What South Jordan Has to Offer

As the 5th fastest growing city in the nation, South Jordan Utah has been voted one of the top places to live in America. It is a beautiful city with so much to offer. For starters, with the population being more health conscious, South Jordan offers 6 health and fitness centers. Two of them are city recreation centers with pools. 3 are nationwide fitness centers with specific things to offer. If getting exercise outside is your thing, there is  Mulligans Golf Course, Glenmore Golf Course, a Skatepark, and several city parks, and Jordan Parkway trail. South Jordan has more than 35 city parks, 2 county parks, nearly 10 miles of trails, 3 fishing ponds, 250 acres of natural open space and boasts a variety of recreational fields and courts throughout the city.

Providing a variety of parks and open space is the top priority for the city. The strong offering of parks boosts the local economy. It draws visitors from other places for league play. They even have a race series that features a variety of race lengths, courses, and fun for everyone! Whether it’s your first 5k or your 150th Marathon, our race series has something for everyone.

If shopping and dining is more your thing, you have several options to choose from.

Towne Center Square-

One of the smaller shopping centers, but has a Harmon’s, Savers, Dollar Store, and several dining choices. It is also home to the City Library.

The District-

This place is one of South Jordan’s premier shopping and dining destinations. It has everything. The District in South Jordan is one of the largest mixed-use developments of its kind in Utah. The 120 acres includes theatres, restaurants, retail facilities, residential housing, specialty shops, office buildings and a great view of the Salt Lake Valley. The District, a unique blend of design and architecture, also includes a main street shopping district. This modern complex has a Megaplex theater,  Hobby Lobby, Ross, Target, Harmon’s, Old Navy, JC Penney, and Gordmans.

Oquirrh Mountain Marketplace-  

The Oquirrh Mountain Marketplace is Daybreak’s newest shopping center. This business development features several shopping and eating options for Daybreak and other new housing developments in the area.

Soda Row-

Some people need some urban appeal in their lives, and that’s why SoDa Row and South Station VIllages was created. Together, it’s a spot where cool, urban townhomes are coupled with shops, restaurants, and a light rail station right in the community. And yet,  it is a place where you can explore the scenery, play at a park or paddle a kayak across a big, freshwater lake.

When it comes to education, there are 2 specialty choices in South Jordan. Roseman University of Health Sciences, and National Institute of Medical Aesthetics, for those who want to stay close to home. There are several events throughout the year that the whole family can enjoy, Sights and Sounds of Summer, Light the Night, SoJo Summerfest. The city also has an Arts/Theater program that sponsors art exhibits and arts-oriented special events.
